- Structural steelwork
- Galvanised bar tension bracing
Hambleton Steel was responsible for the fabrication and erection of the structural steelwork for Newcastle University’s Plot 4, a new multi-storey academic and teaching facility. The development forms part of the university’s investment in modern learning and research environments, providing high-quality teaching and office spaces.
Our scope included the fabrication and installation of 728 tonnes of hot-rolled steel and 4.6 tonnes of cold-rolled members. Major sub-trades delivered as part of our package included galvanised bar tension bracing in 520-grade carbon steel.
