Our Production
All manufacturing is carried out at our purpose-built factory. The 50,000 square feet facility in North Yorkshire is supported by a 65,000 square feet secure storage yard offering flexibility to our clients to store raw steel and fabricated steel to their programme scheduling needs.
Our production process is fully linked to our 3D CAD-CAM system providing accuracy and efficiency. The processes are managed by a highly trained and skilled workforce ensuring a quality product is delivered to the correct standard and programme.
Steelwork is fabricated in 20te loads on flow process lines combining shot blasting, CNC cutting / drilling, fabrication, welding and painting. All serviced by 10te overhead cranes.
Dedicated contract scheduling ensures the 20te erectable loads are delivered to sites at the correct times to allow the erection programme to be achieved.
Our Investment
Technology is at the forefront of our structured investment plan delivering automated process lines which enhance our capabilities.
Our Voortman V807 robotic plasma coping line is capable of handling all open and closed rolled sections. It provides greater flexibility over manual methods of cutting, notching and layout marking. Combining these processes provides a fully automated system ensuring accuracy and speed whilst minimising operator dependence.
Combining the V807 with the Voortman VSB1500/4 fully automated shot blasting machine, the line is capable of handling rolled sections up to 1500 x 500 deep.
Peddinghaus saw and drill line handles the largest rolled sections and plate girders (1016 UB’s) to compliment capabilities.
Fabrication and Painting Lines
Assembly of the main bar material and fittings from the automated processes completed in the preparation bays are brought together on bogeys and assembled, fabricated and inspected prior to welding by skilled operatives.
Final dimensional inspection and NDT (non-destructive testing) will be performed prior to painting, all in accordance with the designated specification and quality assurance criteria for the Contract. All manufacturing procedures are fully accredited by the SCCS for Quality Systems, Welding, and Factory Production Control giving UKCA marking status.
All fabrication lines lead directly into their dedicated paint bays which delivers the steel to a clean environment ready for painting. This ensures our structural steel is finished and delivered to site to the highest standards.
Quality Control
Our manufacturing procedures are fully accredited by the SCCS for Quality Systems, Welding, Factory Production Control and British Standards.
The full manufacturing process is managed under the control of our in-house Responsible Welding Co-Ordinators’ (RWC’s) ensuring the correct quality standards are achieved every time.
