Center Parcs, Woburn
- Structural steelwork
- Metal Decking
- Westock beams
- Cold Rolled
- Glulam
Hambleton Steel delivered the design and build steelwork package for the Center Parcs Woburn Forest development on behalf of B&K, comprising approximately 650 tonnes of structural steel.
The scheme included Center 2, a multi-use leisure facility featuring rectangular hollow section columns and long-span cell beams, designed to accommodate open, flexible interior spaces. It also comprised the Pancake House, a small but prominent steel structure constructed on a concrete frame, forming a key visitor destination within the village centre.
A key challenge on the project was the delivery of complex, bespoke connection details, particularly the integration of steel columns into glulam rafters. This hybrid solution required precise engineering and close coordination to successfully combine structural steel with engineered timber elements while maintaining both structural integrity and architectural intent.
