Hambleton Steel delivered approximately 130 tonnes of structural steelwork for the redevelopment at Acklam Road Hospital in Middlesbrough, previously known as West Lane Hospital, working alongside Sir Robert McAlpine.
The project formed part of the ongoing development of the established healthcare site, providing modern facilities for specialist healthcare services.
The Hambleton Steel package incorporated metal decking, precast concrete stairs, a precast concrete lift shaft and thermal-break systems, requiring close coordination between the structural steel frame and multiple specialist building elements.
The facilities provide purpose-built accommodation supporting the delivery of specialist mental health and healthcare services to patients across the local community, creating a more suitable environment for treatment, care and rehabilitation.
