"This is something that my wife and I have participated in for the past few years," Doug shared. "It’s one of our favourite days over the Christmas break. We, together with others, assist the Homeless Street Angels in distributing Christmas meals, parcels, essential items, and bedding to those in need. My wife is originally from Leeds, so it’s particularly close to her heart."

Doug and his wife, along with a group of volunteers, hit the streets armed with wagons filled with donations. Blankets and bedding provided comfort, while hot meals brought smiles and relief to many. “There was a good turnout of the usual crew, as well as a few new people,” Doug said when reflecting on the shared mission among the group.

Doug’s efforts reflect Hambleton Steel’s commitment to social responsibility and making a difference in the local community. The company’s support for volunteer initiatives like this one underscores the importance of giving back and fostering a culture of care, especially during the festive season.

The Homeless Street Angels initiative has been a lifeline for many in Leeds, not just during the holidays but year-round. Their work includes providing food, clothing, and advocacy for those struggling with homelessness. Volunteers like Doug and his wife shows the spirit of compassion and generosity that fuels the organisation’s mission.

Wonderful efforts Doug, thank you.
