A welcome visit from Rishi Sunak to Hambleton Steel

News

We recently welcomed the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak to our site for a factory tour.

The site visit was a welcome opportunity for us to share our successes and exciting growth plans. During the visit we took the opportunity to show Mr Sunak the fabrication process and went on to explain our £2m investment in new plant. The investment which is due to be installed in the Summer, will improve efficiency and productivity across the business.

Mr Sunak said: "It's great to see a company enjoying strong growth and using the Government's investment incentives to fuel that business expansion. It is also very satisfying to see a local company benefitting from the major investment in Darlington railway station. I am also pleased to see the company working to develop an exciting apprenticeship programme."

Hambleton Steel has seen great success over the last 12 months' seeing our turnover double and an increase in our work force. This is a testament to the team and the strategy we are working hard to develop each day.

Our Managing Director, Matt Gibson said: "Welcoming the Prime Minister has been a great opportunity for us and our team. We are a great success story in the region and being able to share this with Mr Sunak was a pleasure."
