Delivering structural steelwork for Dirac Building at St John’s Innovation Park

This impressive five-storey, column-free office development has been designed to provide a highly flexible and modern working environment, supporting the needs of innovative and technology-led occupiers. The building will deliver approximately 85,000 sq ft of high-quality Grade A office space within St John’s Innovation Park, one of Cambridge’s most established science and technology hubs, with excellent connectivity to the city centre and surrounding research clusters.

Our scope includes the connection design, fabrication and installation of over 600 tonnes of structural steelwork, forming a key part of the building’s efficient and adaptable structural solution. The column-free design maximises usable floor space, allowing for enhanced flexibility in layout and future tenant requirements.

The project demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability and performance, targeting BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and WiredScore Platinum certification. The development will incorporate energy-efficient systems, high-performance building materials and smart technology infrastructure to support long-term operational efficiency and occupier wellbeing.

We are delighted to be working with VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd and the wider project team, including Sheppard Robson, Ramboll and Hoare Lea, and look forward to successfully delivering this high-quality development.

This scheme represents another strong addition to our growing portfolio of commercial and technology-led projects.
